A lot of the Beatles’ fame has to do with the era they came up in & that they crafted themselves from the “straight twink” mold. Same mold every generation after followed: ‘80s & ‘90s boy bands, K-Pop, etc. However, the biggest factor is how much they colonized from the Black musical geniuses who couldn't get their flowers or shine back then. That gave them longevity.
When I took a songwriting course, I did a deep-dive on Beatles because Lennon & McCartney are so praised. My take-away was the lyrical composition was so simple and non-traditional and that's what made it groundbreaking. In terms of their instrumentation, it was influenced by Black artists without as much syncopation. I'm sure someone who knows music theory can explain this better than me.
